If it is a 32bit control, ensure that you are using the 32bit version of Internet Explorer. If you trust the software, and it installs through the browser, you can try running it as an administrator temporarily for the install.

I have recently upgraded to Vista Home Premium 64 bit due to an unfortunate incident. I am logged into the only account configured on this machine and it has IE8 installed. I tried turning UAC on and off - no difference. I'm not sure what else I can do. These controld work fine with Vista Home Premium 32 bit which my lappy is running.
